hold
a haiku poem about holding to faith in God
soul: “hold to the Lord with you in every storm what are you scared for?”
About
No matter how far along we are in our walks with the Lord, we are in need of reminding to hold on to our faith in God rather than to our fears in this world.
We must remind our souls to put our hope in the Lord:
Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God.
My soul is cast down within me;
therefore I remember you
from the land of Jordan and of Hermon,
from Mount Mizar.
Psalm 42:5–6
The God we serve is all-powerful and has promised to never leave nor forsake us. His very Spirit dwells within us. He is present with us through every storm we face.
We can expect to undergo trials, and that while in them we can find peace in the One who has overcome the world.
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
Let us look to Christ in the face of fear, to drown all of our fears in His perfect love (1 John 4:18). For nothing can prevail against the power and purpose of our God.
Prayer
Lord,
Thank you for being with us in every storm. We acknowledge your power and sovereign authority over our fears. Help us to turn to you when we are afraid. Lead us in being bold and courageous for the sake of your kingdom.
Amen.

Thank you for this. It's like a poem you can keep in your backpocket. Because you always need it, and it's small enough.
You quoting Psalm 42 here is another evidence that Jesus wants us to remember how far He has carried us and know that He will still carry us as long as we hold on.
May we never waiver in clinging to Him. Amen.
