About
God is holy and set apart from us, yet he chooses to draw near to and inhabit the spaces we are in.
He is the everlasting I AM, inhabiting eternity, yet drawing near to and reviving the hearts and spirits of his people.
For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
Isaiah 57:15
He draws so near to us that his very Spirit comes to dwell within us when we come to faith in him.
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
Ephesians 1:13-14
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
He is also near to us as we praise and worship him. He inhabits, or is enthroned upon, the praises of his people.
Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
Psalm 22:3
In our sanctifying walks as believers, we are called to turn our thoughts toward Christ, thinking of the heavenly things above rather than on the earthly things below. We are to go to war against ungodly thoughts so that our minds will dwell on the truths in his Word and on his character and ways.
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Colossians 3:1-2
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:5
The glory of God is our ultimate source of hope, a living hope through the resurrection of Christ (1 Peter 1:3). Through faith in this glorious hope, we find joy (Romans 5:2). He inhabits our hope as we direct it to be fixed on him rather than on the things of this world.
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:13
May our hope and faith rest fully in Christ.
Prayer
Lord,
Thank you that though your ways and thoughts are higher than ours, you still draw near to us. Though you are eternal and exist beyond time, you are with us in every moment of time you have allotted for us. Help us to turn our thoughts toward you. Your presence and your glory is the living hope to which we cling. Thank you for inhabiting within and near us. Lead us to glorify you and seek your will in our hearts and lives.
Amen.

He dwells in the heavens, on the earth and in His children all at once.
May we never stop dwelling in Him so that He continues to inhabit us. Amen
Thank you for this. Reminds me of the couplet from 1 Kings 8:27:
"Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you;
how much less this house which I have built!"
I am recently starting to put more poetry on my publication, would love your thoughts on this most recent one: https://codyilardo.substack.com/p/beginning-of-months
