About
Whether it’s a new year’s season or not, believers are in the process of being made new. Every believer is on an ongoing journey of being made more and more into the image of Christ. The indwelling Holy Spirit is at work to convict us of sin and draw us to confession and repentance. From there, we are drawn into the forgiveness of our merciful, compassionate Father.
“And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment:” - John 16:8, ESV
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - 1 John 1:9, ESV
We grow to become more like the Lord as we seek after his will, which is done by walking in obedience to his commands. The Holy Spirit helps us, leads us, works to produce Christlike character traits in us, and more, so we can spiritually grow.
“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.” - John 15:26, ESV
“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” - Psalm 143:10, ESV
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23, ESV
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” - 2 Corinthians 3:18, ESV
