About
The Old Testament prophet Isaiah declared one of Jesus’ titles to be “Prince of Peace.”
Hundreds of years later, when Jesus came on the scene to carry out his earthly ministry, he taught that he wants us as his people to find our peace in him. He taught that we should surrender our burdens and worries to him and trust that he will take care us. When our hearts feel troubled and afraid, we can receive his perfect peace.
Isaiah 9:6: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
1 Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
