hi there, I’m Amirah!

I’m 27, and I’m first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ!

I've been writing poetry since I was in elementary school and have since had a passion for creative expression through writing. During a new year's season of fasting and prayer, I felt led by the Lord to start sharing my poetry and to start studying theology and the Bible more in depth.

He has sparked a deep passion for biblical and theological study that grows everyday as I become more and more fascinated by the intricate depths of biblical truth. My poems are intentionally written to be biblically and theologically sound, as well as to convey authentic emotions and stories about walking through life with the Lord.

I’m a young yet old soul that has been through many intense hardships, including the loss of my daughter in September of 2021 and a past history of self-harm, suicidal ideation, and severe anxiety that has led to hospitalization. I'm in an ongoing process of, as my favorite theologian Charles Spurgeon describes it, learning to kiss the waves that throw me up against the rock of ages.

Through all the hardships I've gone through, I've grown so much closer to the Lord.

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” - Lamentations 3:21-23

My prayer is that my poetry will draw you closer to Jesus. To him be the glory!
